into how we work with our community

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The CCSD Community Engagement team seeks to engage with our community and build connections with external partners in order to increase support for our students, staff, and schools, while supporting the goals of the District’s Strategic Plan.

The Engagement & Events office strives to showcase and support the success of students, staff, and CCSD as a whole by coordinating district-wide events and providing direct support to students in the Indian Education Opportunities Program, Safe Routes to Schools, and the Academic Support and Community Service Center.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Students thrive when their families are engaged. The Family Engagement department provides all CCSD families with valuable learning opportunities to support student success.
TEAM ENGAGEMENT
The mission of the Team Engagement office is to strengthen communication, customer service, and employee recognition programs to enhance school climate throughout the District.
FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER
The CCSD Family Support Center provides support to students and families through information, education, and community resources. Our aim is to aid student success by addressing students’ social, physiological, emotional, and linguistic needs.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix surprised Roundy Elementary School teacher, Kim Kohut, with two tickets to the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix 2025. Nominated by Principal Amy Yee, Ms. Kohut is celebrated for her extraordinary creativity, energy, and dedication to her students, creating a classroom where every child feels valued and inspired. The ticket giveaway is part of an ongoing series recognizing extraordinary locals in Southern Nevadans who go above and beyond in serving their community.

Meet Ms. Ebony Hooper, 2nd grade teacher at Lomie G. Heard Elementary School and our Teacher of the Game, presented by @westcoasttriallawyers. In just her second year, she’s built a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, embrace mistakes, and grow. From hands-on projects to playing her clarinet on student birthdays, Ms. Hooper inspires both students and families every day.

The proceeds from booth rentals at a June tradeshow hosted by BOMA, NPFMA, IREM, and Commercial Alliance were donated to B. Mahlon Brown Academy of International Studies after school Cooking Club. 🧑🏾🍳🍳Their teacher thought they were receiving $5,000, but ended up receiving more! 😲👏🏼
