The Engagement and Events department is responsible for planning and coordinating events such as new school dedications and the Superintendent’s State of the Schools. The Engagement & Events office strives to showcase the success of students, staff, and CCSD as a whole.

On the 11th Day of Recognition, we want to celebrate our partnership with the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation @theburnfoundation. This year, they surprised the students at eight @clarkcountysch schools with toy donations. The toys were distributed during the week of December 16th, culminating in a fire trucks and Santa & Friends school visit. At each toy drive, every student was gifted with one new toy! The school recipients are Fay Herron ES, Will Beckley ES, Lincoln ES, Elbert Edwards ES, Wilhelm ES, Earl Jenkins ES, Marion Earl ES, and Katz ES.

On the 10th Day of Recognition, we would like to highlight the Las Vegas Hospitality Association @lvhospitality, an organization that has hosted a “Fill a Bag with Cheer” event at a @clarkcountysch grade school for the past 15 years. At each event, LVHA members distribute filled bags that are specially designed for the child. In 2024-2025, they sponsored 450 Walter Long STEAM Academy students and worked directly with the principal and counselors at the school to identify those in need of a Holiday Cheer.

On the 10th Day of Recognition, we would like to highlight the Las Vegas Hospitality Association @lvhospitality, an organization that has hosted a “Fill a Bag with Cheer” event at a @clarkcountysch grade school for the past 15 years. At each event, LVHA members distribute filled bags that are specially designed for the child. In 2024-2025, they sponsored 450 Walter Long STEAM Academy students and worked directly with the principal and counselors at the school to identify those in need of a Holiday Cheer.

On the 9th Day of Recognition, we would like to highlight the Winter Wonderland event where 200 @clarkcountysch Petersen Elementary students in grades 2-5 spent the afternoon at the Allegiant stadium. These students arrived in style on coach buses and were treated to a Winter Wonderland sponsored by the Wynn Resorts @wynnlasvegas, complete with food, gifts, and games. In addition, Petersen students and participating staff got the opportunity to meet members of the Raiders organization. #WeAreCCSD

The Nevada Ballet Theatre (NBT) @nbtfuturedance coordinates “The Nutcracker” field trip opportunities each year for their Go-Move-Dance (GMD) students. GMD is in 20 Title I @clarkcountysch elementary schools. NBT’s GMD serves over 1,200 students and runs 28 weeks of the school year. During the program, GMD students attend NBT’s school matinee series and participate in a culminating performance at the end to showcase what they have learned throughout the year. In 2023-2024, NBT gave over 120 scholarships to dedicated GMD students to continue their ballet education the following year. These scholarships, along with hard work and dedication, can lead to them being in the Nutcracker performance they saw while in GMD!
