The Engagement and Events department is responsible for planning and coordinating events such as new school dedications and the Superintendent’s State of the Schools. The Engagement & Events office strives to showcase the success of students, staff, and CCSD as a whole.

Once a high achieving student at Durango High School facing periods of homelessness, Mr. Ammir Aziz returned to his alma mater after earning his college degree to serve as a teacher and assistant football coach. When a car accident left his family relying on one vehicle and public transportation, the community stepped in. Today, Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers and Fox 5 Vegas surprised Mr. Aziz with the Rally in the Valley Award and a brand new 2026 Toyota RAV4. Congratulations, Mr. Aziz!

Today marks the final Clark County School District Book Bus stop of the school year! 📚🚌✨
Throughout the year, the Book Bus traveled to elementary schools across the District, putting free books directly into the hands of students and helping inspire a lifelong love of reading. Literacy opens doors, sparks imagination, and builds the foundation for future success and we are proud to help make books accessible to our students.
A huge THANK YOU to our incredible sponsors: Findlay Subaru of Las Vegas @subaru_lv, @Athletics Baseball Team, and Jason`s Deli @jasonsdeli for helping make this program possible. Your support made a lasting impact on thousands of young readers across CCSD. ❤️

The FOX5 Surprise Squad also joined in on the surprise by gifting each teacher with a $1,000 cash award.

In addition to preparing and serving delicious meals, these individuals create welcoming spaces, build meaningful connections, and brighten students’ days through small moments of care and kindness.
Each honoree received a certificate, a gift card courtesy of Silver State Schools Credit Union, and a sweet treat courtesy of Nothing Bundt Cakes.
