Faiss Middle School came together to celebrate Principal Roger West as he received the UNR Excellence in Education Award. Under his leadership, the school rose from a two to a four star rating, reflecting a strong commitment to student success. As a proud UNR alumnus, it was especially meaningful to recognize him alongside UNR Provost Jeff Thompson. Congratulations, Principal West!

Today we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day by surprising outstanding food service staff with the Exemplary Employee Award. In addition to preparing and serving delicious meals, these individuals create welcoming spaces, build meaningful connections, and brighten students’ days through small moments of care and kindness.
Each honoree received a certificate, a gift card courtesy of Silver State Schools Credit Union, and a sweet treat courtesy of Nothing Bundt Cakes.

This School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, we’re proud to recognize the care and commitment they bring to our schools. In partnership with Richard Harris Law Firm, we were grateful to provide coffee, donuts, and a few small tokens of appreciation to these dedicated professionals.

The inaugural Henderson Paddle Battle brought together teams from 13 CCSD schools for an evening of friendly pickleball competition, connection, and school pride.
Congratulations to Mannion Middle School for taking the top spot and earning $500 for their athletics program. Hannah Marie Brown Elementary and Foothill High School also delivered standout performances, finishing second and third.
A special thank you to our partner, Chicken N Pickle Henderson, for hosting an incredible event and creating a fun space for CCSD employees and their families to come together, build camaraderie, and celebrate their schools.
