In celebration of National Speech Language Pathologist Day and National Speech Language Hearing Month, we recognized outstanding Speech Language Pathologists and an exceptional audiologist whose work helps students communicate, connect, and grow with confidence each day. In celebration of National Speech Language Pathologist Day and National Speech Language Hearing Month, we recognized outstanding Speech Language Pathologists and an exceptional audiologist whose work helps students communicate, connect, and grow with confidence each day. Once a high achieving student at Durango High School facing periods of homelessness, Mr. Ammir Aziz returned to his alma mater after earning his college degree to serve as a teacher and assistant football coach. When a car accident left his family relying on one vehicle and public transportation, the community stepped in. Today, Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers and Fox 5 Vegas surprised Mr. Aziz with the Rally in the Valley Award and a brand new 2026 Toyota RAV4. Congratulations, Mr. Aziz!

Throughout the year, the Book Bus traveled to elementary schools across the District, putting free books directly into the hands of students and helping inspire a lifelong love of reading. Literacy opens doors, sparks imagination, and builds the foundation for future success and we are proud to help make books accessible to our students.

The FOX5 Surprise Squad also joined in on the surprise by gifting each teacher with a $1,000 cash award.
