COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The CCSD Community Engagement team seeks to engage with our community and build connections with external partners in order to increase support for our students, staff, and schools, while supporting the goals of the District’s Strategic Plan.

The Engagement & Events office strives to showcase and support the success of students, staff, and CCSD as a whole by coordinating district-wide events and providing direct support to students in the Indian Education Opportunities Program, Safe Routes to Schools, and the Academic Support and Community Service Center.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Students thrive when their families are engaged. The Family Engagement department provides all CCSD families with valuable learning opportunities to support student success.
TEAM ENGAGEMENT
The mission of the Team Engagement office is to strengthen communication, customer service, and employee recognition programs to enhance school climate throughout the District.
FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER
The CCSD Family Support Center provides support to students and families through information, education, and community resources. Our aim is to aid student success by addressing students’ social, physiological, emotional, and linguistic needs.
In celebration of National Speech Language Pathologist Day and National Speech Language Hearing Month, we recognized outstanding Speech Language Pathologists and an exceptional audiologist whose work helps students communicate, connect, and grow with confidence each day. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom, changing lives one student at a time. Congratulations to our honorees, and thank you to all of our SLPs and audiologists for the extraordinary care and support you provide to students and families across CCSD.

In celebration of National Speech Language Pathologist Day and National Speech Language Hearing Month, we recognized outstanding Speech Language Pathologists and an exceptional audiologist whose work helps students communicate, connect, and grow with confidence each day. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom, changing lives one student at a time. Once a high achieving student at Durango High School facing periods of homelessness, Mr. Ammir Aziz returned to his alma mater after earning his college degree to serve as a teacher and assistant football coach. When a car accident left his family relying on one vehicle and public transportation, the community stepped in. Today, Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers and Fox 5 Vegas surprised Mr. Aziz with the Rally in the Valley Award and a brand new 2026 Toyota RAV4. Congratulations, Mr. Aziz!

Throughout the year, the Book Bus traveled to elementary schools across the District, putting free books directly into the hands of students and helping inspire a lifelong love of reading. Literacy opens doors, sparks imagination, and builds the foundation for future success and we are proud to help make books accessible to our students.
