In a week dedicated to celebrating the power of reading, it’s only fitting to spotlight a librarian. Ms. Dorothea Scholer of Beckley Elementary is attending tonight’s Vegas Golden Knights game and taking a ride on the Zamboni after receiving the Kutner Cares Community Champion Award earlier this week. Thank you for inspiring our students to discover a lifelong love of reading. Enjoy the game, Ms. Scholer!

A morning of surprises for Mrs. Lori Diaz and her Media Production class! After being nominated for the FOX5 Surprise Squad, the class learned their studio will receive a much-needed makeover thanks to the Las Vegas Raiders. Raiders defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway shared the news in person, signed footballs for students, and answered questions about life in the NFL. Mrs. Diaz was also surprised with $2,000 from America First Credit Union and United Nissan.

It’s Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day! 🛠️✨ Today, we had the honor of recognizing six outstanding maintenance workers who go above and beyond every single day. Their dedication, hard work, and behind-the-scenes impact help keep our schools safe, welcoming, and running smoothly for students and staff.
Each honoree received an Exemplary Employee certificate and a gift card thanks to our incredible community partners @silverstatecu. Thank you to all our maintenance workers for the lasting impact you make at CCSD. We appreciate you all today and every day!

This week was absolute electricity as 400+ students from 17 different schools took over the field for the National Rugby League Gala Day! 🏃♂️💨
From diving into Flag Football tournaments to mastering the basics of Rugby, these athletes brought the heat. Huge shoutout to the Las Vegas Raiders for co-sponsoring this event and for hooking everyone up with a new t-shirt🙌
And the MVP of the day? 2T’s Poly Kitchen. 🍗🔥 When we needed a hand, they stepped up at the last minute to serve over 400 BBQ chicken lunches. Local legends doing legendary things!
