In a week dedicated to celebrating the power of reading, itβs only fitting to spotlight a librarian. Ms. Dorothea Scholer of Beckley Elementary is attending tonightβs Vegas Golden Knights game and taking a ride on the Zamboni after receiving the Kutner Cares Community Champion Award earlier this week. A morning of surprises for Mrs. Lori Diaz and her Media Production class! After being nominated for the FOX5 Surprise Squad, the class learned their studio will receive a much-needed makeover thanks to the Las Vegas Raiders. Raiders defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway shared the news in person, signed footballs for students, and answered questions about life in the NFL. Mrs. Diaz was also surprised with $2,000 from America First Credit Union and United Nissan.

From diving into Flag Football tournaments to mastering the basics of Rugby, these athletes brought the heat. Huge shoutout to the Las Vegas Raiders for co-sponsoring this event and for hooking everyone up with a new t-shirtπ
And the MVP of the day? 2Tβs Poly Kitchen. ππ₯ When we needed a hand, they stepped up at the last minute to serve over 400 BBQ chicken lunches. Local legends doing legendary things!
