Cadwallader Middle School Students Explore STEM Principles At NASCAR

In partnership with Fuel for Success, Clark County School District Police Department (CCSD PD), and NASCAR, Cadwallader Middle School students took a deep dive into STEM education and how it relates to the racing industry. Eight-grade students spent several weeks understanding force and motion, integrating their learning as they designed and built model race cars. CCSD PD played a major role in mentoring participating students and providing safety presentations.

A final Race Day event was held at the school to determine the top-performing vehicle models. The top racing students were escorted to the Pennzoil 400 race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway by CCSD PD. The students’ NASCAR visit was complete with a behind-the-scenes tour, meet and greets with professional drivers and crew, and tickets to attend the race.
