On the last day of school, Ms. Edie Guerra was surprised with a celebration honoring her more than 20 years of service and impact in education. With the support of the entire Gunderson Middle School staff and cheer team, she was recognized by colleagues, students, and administrators whose lives she has touched throughout her career. Nominated by a fellow educator, Ms. Guerra was surprised by digital creator @serenaneel with a catered lunch for the school staff and thoughtful gifts courtesy of @michaelsstores . While this surprise highlighted Ms. Guerra’s incredible contributions, we are deeply appreciative of all educators concluding their careers this year and the lasting impact they have made on students, families, and school communities. Congratulations, Ms. Guerra!

Congratulations to our 2026 Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas Water Safety Design Contest winners! 🎉🌊
Clark County School District students showcased their creativity while promoting the importance of water safety. Just in time for summer, winning students received passes from Cowabunga Vegas, and their artwork will be proudly displayed at the waterparks!
Thank you to all of the students who participated and helped spread important water safety messages throughout our community. ☀️💦

Once a high achieving student at Durango High School facing periods of homelessness, Mr. Ammir Aziz returned to his alma mater after earning his college degree to serve as a teacher and assistant football coach. When a car accident left his family relying on one vehicle and public transportation, the community stepped in. Today, Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers and Fox 5 Vegas surprised Mr. Aziz with the Rally in the Valley Award and a brand new 2026 Toyota RAV4. Congratulations, Mr. Aziz!
