Partnership Examples

  • America First Credit Union contributed $15,000 in support of math and literacy programs..
  • The Vegas Golden Knights supplied over $400,000 in hockey equipment to elementary schools across the Las Vegas valley.
  • Walker Furniture revitalized teacher and staff break rooms by equipping them with new furniture and decor.
  • Jimmy John’s Student of the Month Program recognizes high-performing students from multiple schools by rewarding them with gift cards.
  • NFL Green contributed $20,000 of athletic apparel/gear to P.E. classes and school-sanctioned flag football programs
  • Las Vegas Review Journal recognizes 12 academic all-star students each year with a prize of $500 for both the student and school.
  • Green Valley Presbyterian Church stuffed 378 backpacks with school supplies, valued at more than $11,000, and donated them to 14 schools in Henderson.
  • PinkBox Donuts contributed over $1,000 in gift cards to school teachers and support staff during the Recognize a Rockstar campaign in support of their relentless dedication to student achievement.
  • Get Outdoors Nevada gives an average of 10,000 students annually the chance to experience and connect with our state’s natural landscapes through a wide range of nature and science education programs.

PAYBAC

PAYBAC Program Speaker

Serve as an example to middle school and alternative high school students through the Professionals and Youth Building A Commitment (PAYBAC) Program. You and your experiences can serve as an example and inspiration to students, encouraging them to continue their education, set goals, and make plans for the future despite adversities. Interested speakers can expect to speak for 45 minutes to a group of35 students. *Interested volunteers should be at least 25 years of age or may be younger if currently enrolled as a college student or employed.

Mentoring

The Stay in School Mentoring Project matches volunteers from the community across a broad spectrum of professions with students that need guidance and support to help them be successful in school. Mentors will meet with their matched CCSD student in person throughout the year to provide positive guidance, support, and encouragement.

Adopt-A-School

Focus School Project

The Focus School Project, CCSD’s adopt-a-school program, partners businesses, organizations, agencies, and individuals with schools to bring needed resources to students. Participants work with school administrators and staff to assist in increasing academic achievement and engagement while decreasing chronic absenteeism.

The Community Engagement team facilitates numerous curriculum-based field trips,  program opportunities, and contests throughout the year that connect business and community resources with schools to enrich the educational experiences for CCSD students. Curriculum-based opportunities include science, art, literacy, social studies programs, and more sponsored by various partners. These programs actively engage students and enhance classroom education.
